Young voices
Fri 18 Jan 2019On Friday 18th January 2019, 62 children from the Newdigate School Choir joined 6000 other children in a mass-choir event called Young Voices at the Birmingham Genting Arena. This amazing event was the result of months of hard work and music rehearsals from all of the children involved. We are extremely proud of all of the children involved - behaviour was exceptional, commitment and effort was excellent, but most of all, friendships were strengthened and beautiful songs were sung.
Well done Newdigate Choir!”

Newdigate's Christmas Tree in West Orchards shopping centre
Wed 28 Nov 2018As part of the events building up to Coventry City of Culture 2021, Newdigate Primary & Nursery School were invited to visit West Orchards shopping centre to take part in the Christmas Tree Trail. Mrs Marrow and Mrs Lawrence took 7 pupils into the city centre with the decorations made by some of the pupils in school. Some of the decorations are based on local Bedworth history, e.g. hats and mining wheels.
If you are visiting Coventry over the next few weeks, do pop into West Orchards shopping centre and look at all the different trees - our tree is located on Level 3, next to the Amazon lockers.
We think the all children have done a grand job making the decorations - and Baylen, Aaliyah, Grace, Isabella, Jakob, Ashley-James and Kayon were an absolute delight to take on a special trip.

Peace and Reconciliation Week
Fri 09 Nov 2018This week the whole school have been focusing on the theme of 'Peace and Reconciliation'. They have learnt about how important peace is, the valuable contribution of women to the war effort and the soldiers who risked their lives (so that peace was restored). The books used to support these themes were: What does Peace fell Like? by V. Radinsky; Where the poppies Now Grow by Hilary Robinson and Martin Impey; and Peace Lily by Hilary Robinson and Martin Impey.
The children have also understood why we wear poppies as a reminder of these brave soldiers.
To mark the centenary of the end of WWI every child from Nursery to year 6 made a poppy which has been incorporated into the whole school poppy memorial.
