In school we follow a phonics scheme called 'letters and sounds'. It aims to build children's speaking and listening skills in their own right as well as to prepare children for learning to read by developing their phonic knowledge and skills.
Please click on the link to see lots of support, guidance and resources from the letters and sounds website.
Sounds that we learn:
s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r., h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss
Below is a link to a video 'How to pronounce pure sounds' so that you can support the children with the articulation of their sounds, and, in turn, supporting their reading development.
The children have been practising saying the sound, writing the sound and reading the sounds in words.
