Coventry Cathedral - Year 3 trip
Wed 30 Jan 2019On Wednesday 30th January 2019, Year 3 visited Coventry Cathedral. They spent time exploring the ruins and learning about the church before the Coventry Blitz destroyed the original building. They then spent time in the new building which was opened in 1962, learning about various significant pieces art and architecture which were designed to link Christian values to lessons learnt from the war such as ideas of peace and reconciliation. All of the children showed great enthusiasm and the Cathedral staff praised every child for impeccable behaviour all day. Well done, Year 3 -
Nursery Changes - September 2019
Mon 28 Jan 2019As some of you are aware, this year we made some changes to the way our nursery provision worked to ensure we were providing the best possible education and opportunities for our youngest pupils. The next step on this journey is make the arrangement formal with the local authority. In day to day terms this means nothing will change and we will continue to provide our nursery education in exactly the same way as we do now. It just means that we are able to be more flexible in the way we offer our nursery sessions, which we are unable to do as easily when we have a maintained nursery class.

Year 5 and 6 Dodgeball success
Wed 23 Jan 2019A team of 8 year 5 and 6 pupils took part in a local schools dodgeball tournament on 22.01.19. They played extremely well, with some very close matches. It was a pleasure to see the teamwork and supportive attitude all these children showed each other. Overall they came 3rd in the tournament which they should be very proud of.
A big well done to the year 5 and 6 dodgeball team – we are all extremely proud of you!

Young voices
Fri 18 Jan 2019On Friday 18th January 2019, 62 children from the Newdigate School Choir joined 6000 other children in a mass-choir event called Young Voices at the Birmingham Genting Arena. This amazing event was the result of months of hard work and music rehearsals from all of the children involved. We are extremely proud of all of the children involved - behaviour was exceptional, commitment and effort was excellent, but most of all, friendships were strengthened and beautiful songs were sung.
Well done Newdigate Choir!”
