In school we follow a phonics scheme called 'letters and sounds'. It aims to build children's speaking and listening skills in their own right as well as to prepare children for learning to read by developing their phonic knowledge and skills.

Sounds that we learn:
s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r., h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss
The children have been practising saying the sound, writing the sound and reading the sounds in words. Below is the correct formation for each letter, and a rhyme to go with it, to support the children with correct formation.
