The children book show visit: year 2 and 3
Thu 07 Nov 2019On the 7th November year 2 and 3 children visited Warwick Arts Centre to be part of a wonderful children’s literature event with Gijs van der Hammen and Hanneke Siemensma author and illustrator of ‘Little Wise Wolf’. During the show they discussed how they created this story and how the illustrations developed starting with raw charcoal through to colouring in photoshop to get to the final finished book.
The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were happy with their own free copy of the book!

Wed 06 Nov 2019PGL year 5 and 6 trip 23.10.19 – 25.10.19
What a fantastic few days away!
The children attempted a variety of activities during this stay which included: Kayaking, Archery, climbing wall, giant swing, problem solving, fencing and sensory trail. It was lovely to see how kind and supportive the children were to each other and how they encouraged others to conquer their nerves.
All adults who went on the trip are extremely proud of all the children.
Well done everyone, and I hope that everyone rested over the half term.

Year 4 trip to Compton Verney
Thu 04 Apr 2019On the 3rd April, Year 4 went on a brilliant trip to Compton Verney. The children were able to look at some wonderful art work and use this as inspiration for their own piece of art towards the end of the day. All of the children showed great enthusiasm for the tasks they were completing and the final products were superb. We were very proud of the way the children behaved. Their behaviour was commented on by the staff at the centre as well some members of the public, who stopped to tell the staff how impressed they were by the behaviour they had seen.
We would like to say a special thank you to all of the adults that came to support the trip and the staff at the centre who made the day exciting and productive for everyone involved.

Ofsted Inspection - March 19
Fri 22 Mar 2019We are delighted to share the report from our recent OFSTED inspection, confirming that Newdigate remains a GOOD school.
We are really pleased that the inspector recognised the effectiveness of the leadership team, the hard-working and reflective attitude of staff and the progress that our pupils are continuing to make as a result. Children have a 'positive attitude' to reading and have 'opportunities to master their mathematical skills' . They are prepared well for early writing and make 'strong progress in forming letters correctly'.
Our school self evaluation had already identified our next steps and we continue to work hard to ensure these are addressed as quickly as possible.
We look forward to further developing our school community in partnership with you to proved the best experiences for your children.
