Football Success!
Fri 14 Oct 2016Well done to our boys football team who played a fantastic game of football last night at Park Lane Primary School. The team won 7-1! Both Kayne & Jeffrey scored hat-tricks, with Rhys also getting on the score sheet, but every single one of our players played brilliantly. Well done boys!
We'd also like to thank all the parents who turned out to support the team, despite the short notice, it was really appreciated.
The next game will be on 2nd November and the squad for that match will be selected next week

Important Information - SIMS AGORA
Thu 13 Oct 2016All children have now brought home letters containing your activation codes for SIMS AGORA. If you haven't seen the letter please check your child's bag, as every single child was given a letter.
WHAT IS SIMS AGORA?
It is an online payment system which will allow parents/carers to make payments to the school online, securely 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.WHY HAVE WE CHOSEN TO IMPLEMENT IT?
We have responded to feedback from our parents who have requested the facility to be able to pay for school activities, meals, uniform etc online. We carried out a survey on this app, earlier this year and over 95% of parents who responded, wanted to see an online payment system implemented.WHAT WILL WE USE IT FOR?
It will be used to pay for school meals, school trips, school events, charity non-uniform days, swimming, uniform, book bags etc.WHY DO WE NEED IT?
It will reduce the amount of cash we hold in school and reduce the need for children to be responsible for bringing cash into school. It will prevent money going missing and getting lost and also means parents have constant access to their account to see what they have paid and what they owe.DO ALL PARENTS NEED TO SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT?
Yes this is vitally important. Even if you believe there is nothing immediate that you think you will need to pay, you still need to activate your account before the code expires in early November.WILL WE STILL ACCEPT CASH?
In the short term we will still be accepting cash, but the aim is to move towards being a cashless school as much as possible in the future, but we will keep you updated about that, but we would encourage you to use the new system as much as possible.I AM HAVING TROUBLE SETTING UP?
If you need help in setting up, please come and speak to us in the office and we can help. -
50th Anniversary Celebrations
Mon 27 Jun 2016Last week we celebrated the school's 50th Anniversary, with a series of activities.
On Monday morning, we held a special assembly where past staff and governors attended to tell the children some stories about their time at Newdigate and how it had changed over the years. Children were also shown pictures of how the school used to look compared to now. After the assembly our visitors enjoyed a tour of the school as well as some refreshments and a slice of special cake!
All pupils also received a piece of special cake too. All week, each year group were given a specific decade to research in the school's history as part of their class work.
On Wednesday, all children took part in making a very special commemorative mosaic which will be displayed outside school very soon.
Finally on Friday afternoon, there was another assembly, where each class shared what they had learned about their given decade.
It was a wonderful week and keep your eye on the website as we will be adding more pictures as we can. Please feel free to pop in and have a look at the stunning display in the reception area of past photographs etc if you can too.
