School Dinners

Current Lunch Menu

All children are supervised at lunchtimes by our Mid-Day Supervisors.  From September 2014, as a result of DfE funding, all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are offered a free school meal each day, unless you choose to opt out.

School meal options are as follows:-

  • Have a school lunch - Cooked meals are available and served in the dining hall, cooked by staff from Warwickshire County Caterers.  There is a choice of three main courses, one of those being a sandwich/baguette option. Children choose each morning and the meals are prepared/ cooked to order.  There is also a choice of desserts.  Children must pay for their dinner each morning, giving their money in a named envelope to their teacher.   All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day.  Pupils in Years 3-6 will continue to pay for a meal unless they are entitled to free school meals as a result of the benefits your family receives.  Meals are ordered by 10am and we are unable to give a refund if your child is sent home for any reason.

  • Bring a packed lunch - Children may also bring their own packed lunch, which is also eaten in the dining hall.  We actively encourage healthy eating and ask you to consider this when preparing your child’s lunch. Sweets are not allowed and chocolate should be limited to one small bar or biscuit.  Nuts, or products containing nut traces, are not allowed as we have pupils with severe allergies.  Most chocolate spreads contain nut traces, and therefore it is easier to say that none are allowed.  Lunch should be packed in a lunchbox, which is clearly labelled with your child’s name.  Drinks should be brought in a plastic flask or other unbreakable container for safety reasons, again clearly marked.  Please do not send canned drinks or fizzy drinks.

  • Go home - If you do take your child home for lunch, please collect him or her from the office and bring them back five minutes before the afternoon session begins.  If your child is in Year 5 or 6 and you wish them to walk home on their own, please inform the school in writing.

Although all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive free school meals,  if you are in receipt of benefits, it is important that you continue to register with the Local Authority as the school receives additional funding through the Pupil Premium.

All families receiving benefits are advised to inform the office in order to check whether or not you are eligible.

Funding through the Pupil Premium may contribute towards your child’s education through one-to-one and small group tuition, specialist provision such as counselling and nurture groups, educational resources, activities and experiences.
