We did some talk for writing actions and pictures to re-tell the story! Some great story maps from the children and some excellent story telling. Well done!

Read, Write, Inc.

In school we follow a phonics scheme that supports your child when learning to read and write. It starts with us all learning the sounds that different letters make.

So far we have learnt:

m a s d t i n p g o c k u b f

Your children have been practising saying the sound, writing the sound and reading the sounds in words. Each week, on a Friday children will bring home a set of sounds and letter formation practise for the sound that we have been learning that week. Children will also bring home some new words every week to practise saying the sounds in the words, and then blending the sounds to read the word e.g. d-o-g dog.
