Celebration Assembly

18th November 2016

Mathematician of the week: 

Wel done to Blake for great effort over the last two weeks in maths lessons. Blake persevered through fractions work, showing good understanding and having a positive outlook within lessons and therefore working harder. 

 

Writer of the week:

Lucy created a writing piece in role of the character of a volcano! She showed a clear journey of her escape through the volcano, using all those key terminology and included her literacy tools within topic such as fronted adverbials, inverted commas and figurative language. Very impressive! 

 

Reader of the week:

Noraiz was chosen as reader of the week for showing great understanding of the (secret) text we are reading in Guided reading lessons. He has summarised key parts and inferred from the information retrieved. Great skills to have in these lessons. Well done! 

 

Helpful, kind and polite award of the week: 

Abi has received this award for showing consistently good behaviour, for always smiling and for being a great role model for the class. A pleasure to have within this classroom!

 

 

4th November 2016

Mathematician of the week: 

Well done to Tia who showed a great understanding of adding and subtracting fractions. She put hard work and effort into her worker and aided those around her. 

 

Writer of the week:

Millie improved her writing using a purple pen and checked her spellings. She also used a thesaurus to improve her vocabulary choice. Very impressive! 

 

Reader of the week:

Christopher was chosen as reader of the week for his great tone, intonation and expression. Always a pleasure to listen to! 

 

Helpful, kind and polite award of the week: 

Mitchell has deservedly received this award for his change in attitude and behaviour within the classroom. He has made great decisions and listened to adults. Well done!

Mathematician of the week:

Well done to Kayne for reflecting on his work, taking feedback from teachers and progressing through the lessons through short method multiplication. Kayne moved from multipliying 3x1 digits to 3x2digits. Great effort!

 

Writer of the week:

Hermione has produced a well one-sided argument, providing several reasons for her arguments and using conjunctions within her work. Future politicians... beware!

 

Reader of the week:

Faith read beautifully this week. She always reads with great tone and considers the characters feelings when reading. Always a pleasure to listen to!

 

Helpful, kind and polite award of the week:

Leoni has received this award for helping me during lunch times, always offering to help others in the classroom and never fails in being polite and well mannered. A great role model for behaviour in our classroom!

Mathematician of the week:

Well done to Kayleigh for working extremely hard in Maths this week. She showed good understanding of column subtraction, taking on board comments from teachers and impressing the teachers in 5S by checking her calculations by using the inverse!

 

Writer of the week:

Libby wrote a well-presented newspaper article about The Tower Bridge in London. She had the correct structure, included some key and interesting facts for the reader and self-assessed her work. Well done!

 

Reader of the week:

Lui read beautifully this week in our Guided Reading session. He read with expression, fluency and great enthusiasm in addition to participating to questions and allowing others to respond.

 

Helpful, kind and polite award of the week:

Jorja has set an extremely high standard for this award as she listens to instructions well in the classroom, she considers the thoughts of others and her friendly smile is infectious to all around her!
