31st March

Kind, helpful and polite 

well done to Grace. She has supported children well in the class and helps them if they are stuck. She sets a great example with her behaviour. 

Reader of the week

Well done to Ashton. He picked out descriptive language from his guided reading book and discussed the effect these words have on the reader. 

Mathematitian of the week 

Well done to Kyle. He worked hard on his data collection and recorded it accurately and neatly in a pictogram. 

Writer of the week 

Well done to Katie. She has worked hard with her recount of our trip to Conkers. She used some great language to describe her feelings 

10th March 

kind, helpful and polite

Well done to Cameron. He has worked really hard on his behaviour since coming back after half term. His friends have also noticed he has been helpful to other children in the school. 

 

Mathematician an of the week:

Well done to Bethany. She has worked hard to understand the place value of tenths and hundredths and has improved her reasoning skills. 

 

Writer of the week:

Well done to Talan. He has tried extremely hard with his handwriting and is forming letters correctly. His punctuation has improved too. 

 

Reader of of the week: 

Well done to Aaliyah this week for great comprehension questions and understand the meaning of words in context. 

17th February 

 

Kind, helpful and polite 

Well done to Stanley for having a great attitude towards his learning. His confidence has improved across all subjects and he is beginning to support and help his peers

Well done to John for fantastic work when looking at measurements. He has developed his time telling skills, has converted measurements and has worked hard on investigating perimeter. 

 

Writer of the week

Well done to Oscar this week for improving the vocabulary in his work. Oscar listened well to the advice given and used this to improve his descriptive vocabulary in an advert. 

 

Reader of the week: 

Well done to Heidi this week for a detailed book review. Heidi was able to explain the main points in the class book and also discussed her likes and dislikes. 

3rd February 

 

kind, helpful and polite: 

Well done to Shiloh for showing fantastic behaviour around school. She always offers to do jobs in the classroom and offers help to others if they need it! 

 

Mathematitian of the week: 

Well done to Edie for using pictures and equipment to improve your knowledge of division. She has listened to advice given and has moved on to finding remainders using the short method.

 

Writer of the week:

Well done to Layla for working hard on your speech punctuation. Layla has developed the technique of using inverted commas around the speech and also uses new line new speaker. As well as this, there has been a massive improvement in Layla's handwriting. Well done 

 

Reader of the week:

Well done to Rocco for improving his fluency and expression. It is good to see that Rocco is reading everyday and this has shown an improvement in his comprehension and reading skills. 

Friday 20th January 

 

kind, helpful, polite

Well done to Olivia for supporting other children in the class when they are finding a task difficult. As well as this, I am very impressed with the helpful and polite attitute Olivia has around the school.

 

Writer of the week:

Well done to Ashton, for improving his handwriting. This half term, Ashton has tried hard with his letter formation and joins, showing an improvement in the presentation of his work.

 

Mathematitian of the week:

Well done to Elijah. He has focused on his knowledge of multiplication this week. He has listened to an adult's advice and applied this in his own work.

 

Reader of the week:

Well done to Morgan tpfor showing a positive attitude in the reading lessons this term. She has worked hard to improve her inference skills and using evidence from the text to support her views. 

 

Well done to all of year 4 for having such a positive attitude towards your work this half term. 

Friday 18th November 

Kind, helpful and polite: Well done to Kavan for fantastic behaviour throughout the whole year and for having a fantastic attitude towards his work. 

Writer of the week: Well done to Bethany for writing a fantastic adventure story with great description to create tension.

Mathematitian of the week: Well done to Layla for fantastic subtraction and multiplication work over the last 2 weeks.

Reader of the week: Well done to Olivia for making detailed predictions based on the front cover of our new book. 

Friday 4th November 

Reader of the week: Well done to Christopher for fantastic expression and fluency in guided reading. 

Writer of the week: Well done to Melissa for fantastic description when describing characters for your story.

Mathematician of the week: Well done to Stanley for great work rounding 3 digit numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. 

Kind, helpful and polite: Well done to Ruby for great behaviour on the playground, in class and a fantastic attitude to learning.
